Would be great to have him next year, but i still think he will go this summer.Suarez wants to stay at Ajax, disappointing Manchester United and Chelsea
Ajax's sensational Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has said that he intends to stay at the Dutch giants, which will come as a blow to both Manchester United and Chelsea who had both registered their interest in the forward.
23 year-old Suarez has been a prolific goalscorer since joining Ajax in 2007. This season he has scored a remarkable 38 goals in 39 appearances so far, including a hat-trick in last weekend's game against VVV Venlo.
Clearly relishing his time in Amsterdam, Suarez told Dutch channel AT5, "I'm enjoying myself at Ajax. I have not renewed my contract for nothing. I am here to stay." Suarez signed a contract a few months ago to extend his current deal until the end of the 2012-13 season.
Chelsea were so closely linked with Suarez earlier this season that there were rumours that his agent, Daniel Fonseca had agreed personal terms with Chelsea and was simply waiting for the clubs to agree a fee.
Meanwhile, Manchester United were also rumoured to be closely monitoring Suarez just prior to the January transfer window. Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be an admirer of the Uruguayan and sees parallels with former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo , given his ability to play either up front or out wide.
Suarez is renowned as a skillful and entertaining player. He has already scored 10 international goals in 29 games and is set to star for Uruguay at this summer's World Cup.

Re: Luis Suárez
I think I've said this before, but it is very heartening to see such loyalty towards Ajax from a star player like this. With the contract extension we will surely rake in big bucks if he performs at the world cup and Real Madrid bids so much that we have to sell him. However, I would prefer him to stay in Amsterdam, naturally.

The article is a great way to help push up the price of the player.
Luis Suarez , YOU ARE THE MAN !!!
He is definitely leading from the front with his play and all around attitude. I would love to see him stay , though I still envision Ajax getting an offer it can't refuse and selling him.

Settlement proposal from the KNVB: two games' suspension, plus one conditional. Ajax and Suárez decided to accept, so he will be banned against Groningen (away, 8 Aug) and Vitesse (home, 14 Aug).
He will be missed, especially in Groningen...

Luis has changed his agent. Pere Guardiola is the new one. Pere is Josep's brother. Getting ready to move to Barca?

Settlement proposal from the KNVB prosecutor to Luis the Cannibal: a 7-match ban.
I expect Ajax to turn this proposal down.

Re: Luis Suárez
I think the club was expecting something more than the two game self-imposed ban and maybe will negotiate it downward (if possible). It's too bad for Luis as he has been MIA in a number of matches this season. I think that the defenders have caught up with him and the moves he used last season to beat 1 on 1 situations are no longer working. In retrospect we probably should have sold him right after the WC (I know this would be highly unpopular) because I can't see his current transfer value being more than €10 M at this point. Clubs will look hard at the Huntelaar experience and realize that 40 goals or so in the Eredivisie doesn't quite transfer in Spain or Italy. I suspect he will be with Ajax for a good while longer.

It seems to me that the club has accepted the ban of 7 matches. Why in hell, can someone explain?

I wonder if Luis hasn't played his last league game for Ajax?
Re: Luis Suárez
Who is going to buy him? Seriously, he is not scoring goals and most of the clubs that could pay the big money do not need him.The Purple Cow Again schreef:I wonder if Luis hasn't played his last league game for Ajax?

Re: Luis Suárez
Suarez was rated at 40m euors back in the summer but at present if someone offered 20m I would take it . He did not get a break after the WC and clearly looks in need of a rest plus his partnership with El H is not working .
Problem for Ajax is that we have only 2 forwards ie El Ham and Sulejmani . No idea why Mido was not sub yesterday but injury was not mentioned so if Jol does not want to use him why the hell is he here?
Suk and Bodul have hardly set the Jong alight this season so we are going to struggle even more.Maybe Eriksen will get a game !!

A friend - VIP cardholder at Anfield told me that it's not Samaras that is heading to Liverpool but Suarez !!!
Now after that 7 game ban , I am starting to think that its a reality.

Re: Luis Suárez
I don't think Suarez will go to Liverpool, he has his sights set higher, I can't rule out Barca though it seems a favorite of his.
T.I.P.S.= Technique, insight, personality and speed, this is the Ajax way.
Re: Luis Suárez
And exactly who does he replace at Barca? Seriously, even Bojan would rank above him on the frontline choice. Biggest mistake would be for him to go to England as he would suffer the same fate as Fernando Torres (getting hurt); that league is too rough. Probably the only clubs in Spain where he could start would be Valencia, Seville, and Villareal (the second tier teams). Whether they could match his salary aspirations is another story.filipus23 schreef:I don't think Suarez will go to Liverpool, he has his sights set higher, I can't rule out Barca though it seems a favorite of his.

luis to liverpool, hmmm. maybe 20 million plus ryan babel?
Re: Luis Suárez
Hm, i think Suarez canind place in any team in the world. It's true, that he lost his form, but hey it happens to many players after a strong WC. It's totaly normal, if u ask me. In the spring he'll be a incredible again. I really rate him together with Messi and CR7

Re: Luis Suárez
Just curious as to how many people think that he may have played his last Eredivisie game for Ajax? With a suspension which will take him up to February, and the transfer window open in January... What do you think?
