Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
what a clusterfuck of a club ajax is.
what an egotistical monster cruijff is. this guy has been told since he's a kid that he is god. this is what happens.
we need some russian oil tycoon to come in and buy the club. not for the money, just so that somebody is in charge.

Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
This would put us in the same class as Vitesse, correct? Don't think I want to go there. I guess we just have to see how this all plays out. My reading of all this is that Coronel is the one who is most upset as he thought he was moving the club forward in accordance with his report.bryan schreef: we need some russian oil tycoon to come in and buy the club. not for the money, just so that somebody is in charge.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
Sounds like a huge mess in the short term -- but the board has ignored the tradition and spirit of Ajax as a football club in favor of policies geared to fiscal returns for the shareholders. There has long been a crying need to put football at least on the same level of importance. Fiscal responsibility is important -- but it has to be balanced with what Ajax as a football club is all about. Otherwise, what's the point -- if shareholder profit is the be all and end all, why not just run a shoe factory.
Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
This is the best thing that could have happened to Ajax. Cruyff is getting his way and all who oppose his plans appear to be leaving soon. A historical day for our club!

Yeah, let us reach the 450 M debt mark from Barca!philippe schreef:Bloody GREAT news ! I fully agree with rjf1and Dubbel. At last. Football over finance.
He's not the Messiah. He's a very naughty boy!
Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
Don't you think that Barça's situation is slightly better than ours ? Meaning who gives a fuck about debts as long as we get trophies.

I don't thik this is ever going to happen. May be we will have some debt, but i prefer to be 5 years on top and then 10 in the second half of the table, instead 15 years of mediocrity.Jinne schreef:Yeah, let us reach the 450 M debt mark from Barca!philippe schreef:Bloody GREAT news ! Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
I'm confused about the discussion regarding Danny Blind. If De Boer wants to keep him, why would JC insist that he should leave ?

Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
Cruijff is a nasty little bully isn't he? Whatever happens Ajax is the loser here. Either the current situation continues, or Ajax will be effectively be run by a playground bully and his two henchmen.
While we are on the subject, It must have been fun for those two at work this morning. Turning up for work at De Toekomst after recommending that eight of their colleagues be immediately fired without the normal benefits of a disciplinary procedure or a right to defend themselves.
Then this morning I read:
I hope somebody spat in their coffee.

Yeah, no shit, Wim. Hypocrite."Het gaat om Ajax. Als dit een warme club is, zijn we ver afgedreven. Op dit moment is niet leuk om hier te werken."

Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
hopeully he'll get bored soon and piss off back to barcelona
jari litmanen should be the god of this club. at his peak he was just as good a player as cruijff, in a more competitive era. and he is 10 times the man cruijff is.

Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
And Cruyff can judge that in Blinds present role better than de boer? It's more likely that Blind has become too much a van Gaal asociated man. And as we know, Cruyff judges on sympathies rather then on capacities.acab schreef:Maybe 'couse he's just not good enough?philippe schreef:I'm confused about the discussion regarding Danny Blind. A couple of other comments related to previous posts. While the club could fire the "eight" individuals they cannot circumvent normal Dutch laws regarding compensation and other rights. As Coronel stated, there would be salaries of over €1M that would have to be paid. We cannot assume too much debt going forward because the UEFA fair play rules will kick in and this would make us ineligible for Euro play (this is why the big Euro clubs are spending so much money this year so that they can tighten things up next year and the year after without running afoul of the regulations). For those who think this will bring us Euro glory you are smoking something weird. We have always had sufficient resources to finish in the top three of the league (though this is not what we want of course; we want to be #1 every year).
We will always be a net selling club as there will never be enough television money to balance the books any other way. I still wonder about Cruyff's overall commitment to his "plan." If you look at things today, we are pretty much on this track (look at all the new players who have gained their first team starts this year that came up through the youth ranks; there are a number of others who are poised to do the same in the next year or two). What new approach is going to be brought in other than some new personnel who Cruyff supports (I'm not denigrating that since he is a much more astute judge than I am or for that matter anyone else on this forum). My concern is that there are some good people on the current Board who will be departing (Coronel among them as it was his report that documented what was wrong under the Jaake era). We will see how it plays out but I suspect there will be some turmoil going forward.
Someone mentioned Litmanen as a potential useful director. It's an interesting thought but he's still an active player at the club level and I don't think had any experience in administration.

Nope, I'm just a realist who wants the best for Ajax. I think if we ever get to the quarterfinals of the CL that will be a major accomplishment.philippe schreef:Staggering to read how negative some of you are. Are things going so well so far ?

Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
Can I wake up and see another Dutch Champions Shield being held by an Ajax captain? And a good bunch of players with the right mentality to progress after the group stages of the CL??? Is it too much?
May the Force be with you

Don't be too sure, Cruijff lost his marbles a long time ago.Orange14 schreef:I'm not denigrating that since he is a much more astute judge than I am or for that matter anyone else on this forum.
No, I don't think Litmanen would be good in that role. I'm just saying that he'd never show up at Ajax, throw a tantrum and demand that everyone is fired. He's too humble and respectful for that. In my opinion, in the history of Ajax greats, Cruijff has relegated himself below Litmanen (and many others) due to this.Someone mentioned Litmanen as a potential useful director. It's an interesting thought but he's still an active player at the club level and I don't think had any experience in administration.
Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
As long as there is a constant power struggle at the club no player in their right mind will want to come here. And those who are already here will be looking for the door to go somewhere more stable.souras84 schreef:Can I wake up and see another Dutch Champions Shield being held by an Ajax captain? Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
Do you really think most of the players give a shit about this? Well, they don't. If you offten read AD or De Telegraaf, you will see that at least 3 very good players want (or at least think that would be a good step) to come to Ajax, no matter what (Verhoek, Mertens, Vorm).bryan schreef:As long as there is a constant power struggle at the club no player in their right mind will want to come here. So i don't see your point. I know drastical changes can be scarry, but what sould we do? Stay with the same Board and win nothing for 7 more years? We all saw things don't work this way. So what's wrong to try another?
Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
We haven't had a stable board for the last 7 years. All sorts of shit has gone on. This is precisely the problem. More instability and more sackings is not the solution.
Don't forget that Johan Cruijff's last brain fart contribution to Ajax before he marched off in a huff was trotting out Marco van Basten for the top job, and we all know how that turned out.
If Cruijff was a true leader he'd be uniting the club and bringing everyone together, instead of driving even more division into the club. Cruijff isn't a uniter, he's driven my personal vandettas as much as anything else. His hatred for Van Gaal and Adriaanse is irrational. Don't forget, it's also due to Cruijff that Adriaanse got the sack. It's also Cruijff's big mouth that helped get Olsen the sack and landed us with Wouters.

Re: 'J.C.' - The Omnipresent Oracle
Everyone makes mistakes, Cruijff too. Van Basten was a mistake, OK. But where was the BORD back then? They had the final word about Van Basten appointment, don'd they? where are Coronel and van den Boog now? Just look at the situation from an other angle. Cruijff told them something, they didn't approve it and...resign??? WTF?? If you have balls and know you are right, you'll fight, you'll just tell Cruijff to shut the f*ck up! But no, they resign! You defend the Bord? Ok, tell me, why the hell they sold Suarez in the middle of the season? i still dont get it. iThey could do that after the season, with a champions crown on his headbryan schreef:We haven't had a stable board for the last 7 years.
