Boukhari and decent in the same sentance just doesn't fit.
BTW, Nor does Yannis going and Sikora playing for Ajax. Yannis did way more for our club than Sikora ever did!

Perfect Example!

Here is why he must go, this is not how you build a young player's confidence who is supposed to replace someone like Zlatan (From UEFA.com):

"Summer signing Markus Rosenberg was seen as a potential successor to his talismanic compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic, yet began on the bench against Sparta. "I was surprised I wasn't in the starting lineup after scoring at the weekend [against FC Twente], and I'm disappointed," he said.".

If things like that continue, we may end up in the 2nd division next year!

OK, let's compare him to wingers then. Look at Andy van Der Meyde, he had a pretty good strike rate as a winger when he was with us. So did Mitea when he was healthy. Compare them to Babel and it is night and day. We are relying on Babel and Rosales to feed our strikers. No wonder we suck so bad this year! Boukhari is our only decent winger until Mitea is fit.
I can understand that Babel underperforms as a winger, because he's not a winger, and nor does he claim to be one. The best thing to do is to remember how he used to play as a striker. When Babel was played as a striker he scored goals and played well.

Actually, my vote is for Roy Keane to take over as coach! If he can't motivate the Ajax players than no one can!
:X :X :X That was a joke right?

We've been over Keane as a player before but in one sentence you are blaming Blind for not having enough coaching experience and then you are advocating replacing him with a complete novice!

At least Blind had coaching experience, reserves or not, remind me exactly how much experience Keane has :nooo:

Just to say that my posting re Blind etc on the Utrecht game thread ought to be on this thread. I thought I would say this before Ko ticks me off.

One point on experience Blind has more coaching experience than the current Dutch Coach who had one year as assistant reserve coach before taking over the national team.

(This does not mean Blind was right for the job.)

Wait a second bro...If you're talking about OPH's signature it means that Yannis must go to another team and Sikora must stay at the current team he is playing for, thats why he says that it makes sense in the end.....GET IT???.

Chill out bro, OPH know's a lot more than you think.

BTW Bouckhari sucks

Peace ;)
BRING IT ON !!!!...

Thanks VA for your support on this one - I must admit though that my signature was from the time that Sikora was on our books. The signature really was a little bit of rebel in me in that everybody was saying that Sikora should go and also a number of posters were saying that Yannis should stay, so I stated the opposite view for a little bit of fun. Having said that I still believe that Yannis isn't the man for Ajax and I do wonder if any of the wingers that have replaced Sikora have actually performed any better.

As to our friend in the Colonies, he has got it fixed in his mind that by replacing Blind, the problem will be solved. Whatever we say or do will not get him to change his mind.
Blind has on his hands a huge job in turning it around and I haven't a clue if he is capable of actually doing this. However, my point is that he should be judged over a longer period of time than some people are prepared to give him.

I am over for the match at the weekend and I am looking forward to a rousing game and victory.

Hup Ajax

My review of the last week.

When I see my mates at our local game tomorrow they will ask me how Ajax are doing , I will sadly answer crap at the moment but the following sums up my thoughts of the last week.

I read the various reports on NEC game and conclude we may have played 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. Our best defender, who plays centre back , started at right back moved to the centre and I believe finished at left back. We ended with 3 strikers with one playing on the left wing .

Total football !! No just total confusion. The coach seems to have lost the plot.

Of the 19 first teamers that were available for that game 3 were goalies and 5 were strikers.5 of this squad have been told to clear off you are not good enough ( Lobont, Vonk Boukhari and our 2 greek strikers) and a 6th does not want to be here(De Jong)

Altogether out of 26 first teamers 10 will definately go by the summer and 4 others will only stay if they sign new contracts.

Of those who do not want to be here one is currently injured ,this has prevented him from either being suspended or in Egypt playing for his country. He would prefer to be in Germany with his new club but they are skint and cannot pay a euro in transfer fees so we are lumbered with paying him for the rest of the season when he clearly does not want to be here.

Oh yes another that we have made into a decent player is out injured for the season and says to us thanks for still paying me and getting me fit , so I can piss off to Italy.

Now you will agree I am being a bit cynical with the last 2 paras iro Pienaar and Maxwell but that sums up the current state of the team that I follow and love.

I am sure alot of football fans in Holland who do not like Ajax will probably laugh at the above state of affairs but sadly it is no laughing matter to lovers of our club. We are not talking about some tin pot little club but one of the great footballing clubs in the World.

PS I am sure things will pick up as we can still finish in the top 5 and possibly get into next seasons champions League. And across the road from the stadium on our training ground there are 100's of young dutch lads who all want to play for our first team. 2 of whom , Sarpong and Goosens recently decided to say no to the richest club in the world because they wanted to play here and wear the most famous football shirt n the world.

Nice of you to say that SPL.

One may ask if Ajax was a developed team when it won it's last Eredivisie. Wrong.
It was a good-developING team. A developed team plays well, and is a dominate force. Back then we only lead PSV with what, 4 or so points? And played incosistant. Now, with Koeman and such selling all of our developing players, the team's level goes down under, and the resulting morale and pressure makes other players play piss poor.

Well we all know the answer how to get back on track, but easy said than done.
