Looking at our squad we have about 28 first teamers plus 19 reserves under contract plus several of our A1 youths ready to break into the reserves. ( 7 regular A1 team have contracts and that does not include Zeegelaar)
Up until now we have had lots of injuries but with most getting back to fitness we are overloaded and need to get rid of some.

Gentenaar, Rommedahl are the obvious players with possibly Silva , Kennedy and Leonardo maybe looking to go. We are overloaded with young midfielders and I believe Anita and de Jong need to go out on loan. In addition, Schilder maybe gets on the bench but is not going to get into the starting 11 plus of course poor Martina who did ok v twente, set up the first goal and has not even been on the bench since. Ajax should let the lad go and stop stringing him along.

At reserve level, which is not so important to most people, there needs to be a clear out to give some of our A1 youths a chance.
Delorge, Manucharyan will go but Hasselbaink, Jongebloet Lewis, McIntosh(always injured)should all go now as they are not going to make it. They should make room for Castillion, Zeegelaar, Kapplehof and Sneijder. In addition Goossens should go out on loan to get first team experience.Even Alderweireld could go out on loan.

Ajax used to loan out loads of kids 4/5 years ago but do not bother now.
I have listed 5/6 lads who need first team experience and loaning seems to be the answer.

Okay, apparently it's 'decision time' at the ArenA. Van Basten has made up his mind about certain players.

* Kennedy, Rommedahl and (more surprisingly) Martina may be sold according to a news story in newspaper Algemeen Dagblad. According to Johan Derksen (chief-editor of Voetbal International and an ever-provocative TV man in football talkshows) Gentenaar may also leave, but the AD article doesn't mention him.

* Anita: not to be sold, but may be loaned out for the second half of the season.

* Also in AD: Van Basten is quoted saying that Leonardo has "fought back and is now making a very good impression", so Ajax are considering a contract renewal.

* Ajax do not intend to offload Silva, according to Danny Blind in AD: "Van der Wiel, Oleguer and Silva are three right-footed defenders for two positions. We need him."

I didn't see this yet, and was wondering how accurate it was considering the source:

http://www.goal.com/en/news/1686/erediv ... xs-delorge
No Panthrakikos Move For Ajax's Delorge

Belgian midfielder Laurent Delorge was on the verge of leaving Eredivisie giants Ajax to sign for Greek outfit Panthrakikos, but the deal has collapsed.

Both sides had already reached an agreement about the transfer, however the Greek side failed to meet the versatile player's personal demands.

Delorge was banished to the reserves at Ajax last summer after Marco van Basten's appointment as Ajax boss, together with Kenneth Perez, Albert Luque and Jurgen Colin.

Much to his own dismay, Delorge is still part of the Ajax reserves. The other three players all left Ajax over the course of the past couple of months.

The 29-year-old started his professional career at AA Gent and also played for Coventry City, Lierse, Anderlecht and ADO Den Haag before signing for Ajax in 2007.
He's obviously one of the players we need to get rid of (and shouldn't have signed in the first place). Ten Cate must really think highly of him to bring him to Ajax and then try to bring him to Panathanaikos.

I also wonder what kind of personal demands he must have coming from the Ajax reserves at almost 30 years old, although I thought he was getting fairly generous pay as it is now. Seems like he's pretty content to collect his paycheck.

He's not going to Panathinaikos, which is in Athens. The club that was interested in him was Panthrakikos, which is in Thrace in the northeast of Greece. Big difference. I can't imagine him hacking it at Panathinaikos, which is usually a pretty decent club.

Although a reserve Goossens is going. Thought he was promising but last night was stuck on the sub bench for reserves. I think he will go and become a decent player elsewhere.

Schilder is talking over his future but it seems that Siem de Jong is staying. I think they may have let him go on loan as I am sure we are not going to sell him, he is still 19.

Appears interest for several of our players . Rommedahl has French and English championship clubs. Kennedy has Hammerby in Sweden and also mention of him being included in Elia signing. Leonardo Koln and Panathinaikos although agent denies this. Danny Blind confirms Dutch interest in Delorge and Manucharyan also Goossens is wanted on loan by Haarlem. Finally Heerenveen want Vonk as cover but with Gentenaar wanting out Ajax would be left with Sergio Padt, 18 and still playing some A1 youth games as our 3rd choice. Ajax want 3 experienced goalies.

Does appear that most of those players will leave as there appears to be proper interest and not just paper rumours. We need a clear out .

Hopefully there will be some movement out this week. Rommendahl and Kennedy are with the reserves at present which is a joke. Sparta fancy Gentenaar and Martina has interested clubs.

As posted in the Kennedy thread: it appears that both Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are seriously interested in the good man. Very interesting. They are local rivals, so if we're lucky neither of them want to lose the 'battle for Bakirçioglü'. Let the bidding start, is what I say!

Report today that Siem de Jong is not going out on loan and Gentenaar is likely to stay. Kennedy Martina and Anita all to go but no concrete interest for any of these. Reserves Goossens and Manucharyan would both likely go out on loan but apart from Haarlem declaring an interest for Goossens nothing concrete for them either.

I am sure something will happen with these in the next week but I did think we would have no trouble loaning out the youngsters listed above.

One can only imagine that the economy is is causing clubs, modest Eredivisie clubs and Eerste Divisie clubs , to throw $ around like manhole covers.

Well, crap. I hate to see that. Not that I'm surprised, of course, but still.... not what we want to read right now.

Suarez has done nothing more than being quoted as saying he wants to play for Real. Hardly earth-shattering.

This is just a case of a newspaper trying to stir something up. But there's nothing in the Suarez quote that indicates he's going this winter.

Oh, yeah, agreed; I didn't mean to imply that I thought he would. I just, you know, want to keep the focus on finishing this season strong.

Sigh.

Still very quiet on Kennedy and nothing on Martina or Anita.

However Heracles want Daley Blind on loan.Last weekend NEC asked for Toby Alderweireld but were turned down. ( NEC have now signed Az 's Milano Koenders on loan. He is an ex Ajax youth) and still fancy Goossens.

I think it would be good if both Daley and Toby did go on loan as they would get regular games this season which would help their development.
Unless there are lots of injuries they are only going to get on the bench with us.

They say Goossens may go to Twente on a three year contract.
He should either be loaned out, or be given a chance. i think this guy has potential

Agreed. He's too good to sell. Would be a very stupid thing to do.

Sell a talented wing player to a close , points wise, rival when we have little depth and may lose our left wing in the summer ? No way would i sell Goossens.

Shame really. He seems like a nice bloke that could've been a hit after being included in pre-season games.
I'd start a protest against his possible sale, but wouldn't have any basis to prove the block as he wasn't given any chances to play!
Though I seriously think we would be better on the wings than Emanuelson or Leonardo.
