Ronald de Boer is assisting Heitinga with the u19's. Must be a benefit for the kids.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Jep, good call.SPL schreef:Ronald de Boer is assisting Heitinga with the u19's. Must be a benefit for the kids.
In the first two Frank de Boer years Ronald was mostly positive about his brother.
But in the last years on the Dutch tv Ronald de Boer often said that in his eyes Ajax was making a lot of positional mistakes, sometimes destroyed the performance of the 1th team at half time when he had the tv analysis and the team was playing boring.
Gave very precise instructions what to do better, but unfortanely they probably weren't watching tv in the dressing room.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
I liked this move as well. One of the smarter kids with amazing technique from that 95 team. Injuries cut his time short.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Hungarian U19 winger Oliver Horvath has joined PSV on a years contract. He has not played much for the last 2 years since joining due to injuries.
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Another injury prone U19 from overseas has gone Ricardo Farcas a left back from Romania has signed for Italian side SPAL1913.
Signed a 3 year contract to 2019 and like Horvath has hardly played for 2 years.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
And another goes,Denilho Cleonise a 16 nearly17 year old winger in our u19 squad is signing for Genoa in Italy. He joined us from AZ last summer having been at Amsterdam side Zeeburgia. He did not play that much in U17 last season but was kept on although no contract. Not a big talent more a player for filling the squad.
We have seen the best part of 20 teenage kids leave us in the last 4 years to sign contracts abroad. They have a tough act to make it.
Only 5 we really would like to have stayed;
Fosuh -Mensah now at Fulham
Dilrosun now Hertha Berlin although a reserve
Malan back atPSV
Castillo and Redan still at Chelsea.
Mink Peeters left for Real Madrid, failed to make the grade with Almere last season and has been loaned out to a Spanish 3rd division side.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
This pitch looks really strange, Ajax Under 19 lost a friendly against Anderlecht Under 21 at De Toekomst with 1-2 today. Some highlights:

Same afternoon Ajax Under 17 played Anderlecht Under 18 and won 3-1.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Yes that was weird. The match official had to guess where the boundaries of the penalty box were and how to spot the ball when he called one against Anderlecht. Maybe they were using the pitch for some sport that I have never heard of and didn't have time to lay down the football lines.Cruijff schreef:This pitch looks really strange, Ajax Under 19 lost a friendly against Anderlecht Under 21 at De Toekomst with 1-2 today. .

Yep,Orange14 schreef:Maybe they were using the pitch for some sport that I have never heard of and didn't have time to lay down the football lines.
Ajax will probably cancel their football activities and will focus on other sports.

The youth teams Under 13 play 'positional matches' on very small pitches so they learn to make the right passing decision very quick. Probably they've used one of the pitches often used by the youngest kids for this friendly.Orange14 schreef:Yes that was weird. Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
16 year old Kai-Jana Hoever a right back has joined Liverpool . He turned down a contract with us. He was 16 earlier in the year and played at RB regularly for our u17 after the winter break .Clearly a talent but not a top one.Liverpool report he is hugh talent !!
Gravenberch and Brobbey were the outstanding talents in this years 16 . Next year the outstanding 16 year old will be Naci Unuvar a creative MF and rated the best talent in our whole academy. He has said he want to stay with us and his father have indicated likewise.

Compared to what they bring out from their own academy they probably rate it as hugh, yes.SPL schreef:16 year old Kai-Jana Hoever a right back has joined Liverpool . Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Well they did develop Raheem Sterling! I remember a match with one of the youth Ajax clubs and Liverpool some years ago and you could see how talented Sterling was. I don't remember whether it was one of the UEFA youth league games or the Futures Cup. In general you are right. English clubs have so much money they can buy talent rather than develop it.Cruijff schreef: Compared to what they bring out from their own academy they probably rate it as hugh, yes.

Well, at the Youth League level a couple years ago Viktor Fischer looked like he would be the biggest talent in decades:Orange14 schreef:Well they did develop Raheem Sterling! Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Yes this is it, Sterling is #11 for LIverpool. I don't think Fischer has ever recovered from the leg injury he suffered. He doesn't have the blinding speed he had. It's too bad as he was a special player and now will have to play out his time in Denmark.Cruijff schreef:Well, at the Youth League level a couple years ago Viktor Fischer looked like he would be the biggest talent in decades:Orange14 schreef:Well they did develop Raheem Sterling! EDIT: Great double save by van der Hart on the PK following the foul on Sterling in the box.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Naci Unuvar with two goals as the U17s thrashed Utrecht 5-0. Can't wait to see him move up to the higher level.
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Yes Naci Unuvar is rated the best prospect in our youth. He wants to stay at Ajax and importantly so does his family.
The U17 have 5 kids still only 15 ie in the team a year early .The U19 also won 3-1 yesterday v Sparta Rotterdam.
Both games yesterday were cup games so the youth season has now started.
The U19's will be hoping our 1st team qualify for the Champions league as they will then automatically be in the U19CL.The last 3 seasons our U19 qualified by virtue of being national U19 champs but last season we let some shower from Eindhoven win our title.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
The U19's being in the U19 CL is good for their development and prestige for the club. The U19's get the same group as the 1st team
Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Also a good opportunity to see if Heitinga has the chops to be a good trainer against top flight teams.SPL schreef:The U19's being in the U19 CL is good for their development and prestige for the club. The U19's get the same group as the 1st team

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Naci Unuvar who turned 15 this past June is doing well with the U17 team. I know he is a real talent but will he break into the first team when he is 17? The only MF that I can remember doing this was van der Vaart who was a prodigy.
EDIT: Just saw that he was named to the CL Youth team!!! Several Jong Ajax players are also on this team so it looks like Ajax want to make a real statement in this competition.
Bekijk hieronder de volledige spelerslijst:
Keepers: Calvin Raatsie, Daan Reiziger, Issam El Maach, Dominik Kotarski, Mateusz Gorski.
Verdedigers: Mitchel Bakker, Abdallah Aberkane, Jasper Ter Heide, Sven Botman, Navajo Bakboord, Nordin Musampa, Elgero King, Boy Kemper, Terrence Douglas, Sergino Dest, Liam van Gelderen, Neraysho Kasanwirjo, Devyne Rensch, Jurriën Timber.
Middenvelders: Enric Llansana, Max de Waal, Naci Unuvar, Ryan Gravenberch, Quinten Timber, Anass Salah-Eddine, Jurgen Ekkelenkamp, Kenneth Taylor, Victor Jensen, Noa Lang, Noah Abid.
Aanvallers: Jaymillio Pinas, Eros Maddy, Venitchio Sint, Sontje Hansen, Ché Nunnely, Nicolas Kuhn, Dillon Hoogewerf, Brian Brobbey, Szabolcs Schön, Damjan Dostanic.

Clarence Seedorf even came into the team as a 16th year old.
Bazoer you will now almost forget, but as a teenager he played some games for the Dutch national team and scored an awesome winning goal against Feyenoord when he was about the same age:

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
@Cruijff - quite right you are. Seedorf was a another prodigy who had a distinguished club career. Hard to believe that Bazoer is still only 21 years old! I felt that he doesn't read the game as fast as is required at the highest level. Maybe he can get things straightened up in Porto.

Re: Ajax Youth & Amateurs
Well, that also depends if the DNA of your football team matches with your own football profile and if other players look up to you and take effort to get to know you as player.Orange14 schreef:I felt that he doesn't read the game as fast as is required at the highest level. Johan Cruijff would be also much better when playing at Ajax or even Feyenoord than when you bring him to Wolfsburg or Levante.
Also a big factor in football is if the trainer likes you or not. Not always and everywhere, to use a big understatement, the trainer picks all best eleven of the club.

SPL you missed the score of our U19 against AEK?
Here you have the highlights:

Do you still need a ticket for Ajax - AZ, by the way?

AEK U19 team was very poor. Heitinga's team should get a harder test against Bayern.
