That's my fault.
Got back from Amsterdam yesterday evening and wrote it.
Jim wants to do some fine tuning and will publish very soon.

Sorry for critisizing you so heavily recently, but ajax-usa has not been updated for quite a long time. The Ajax - Atletico match report is still missing and no news have been published for quite a while - and they definetly are some - the signing of Suarez, the news over Sneijder and a report for our next Champions League opponent - they have to be written. Once again - sorry for critisizing you ,Menno, Jim and Co. But I get extremely frustrated when seeing that the best english Ajax site is not updated again and again.

JA - We have to remember this is a supporters site, not a paid for, or full-time workers site. Menno, Jim, etc do it out of love and dedicate a lot of their own time to keep the site as up-to-date as possible.

I'm sure they already spend much more time on the AjaxUSA than they really should and we should be thankful we have such a great site to visit. I have only written just the one match review on the page and it made me appreciate much more how difficult it is to keep the site up-to-date 100% of the time.

I'm sure come season proper things will be back to "normal", plus we have this forum that is really one and the same thing as the AjaxUSA site, a sister site if you will.

All I can say is hang in there, I'm sure the boys are trying their best mate.

Hey, hey!

I've returned from France, late last night. Just wanted to thank Gordon Paterson and Manneken Pis for doing the honours while I was on vacation, and writing two great match report. I really enjoyed reading them.

As for the 'news things' that happened while I was away (Suárez, CL draw, Sneijder): I will write some missing reports today, including a Slavia Prague profile.

So I would like to apologise once again for critisizing you, however,
you've reached a reputation of a top-class, always up-to-date pundit and
when you are late with some news - people get somewhat annoyed. I always knew that there should be a reason for this. I hope you didn't take my critics so heavily

Just wanted to thank GP and MP for the great reads. The enjoyment I got out of reading your work makes any wait worthwhile. No better english language , or any language for that matter , coverage of Ajax.

Announcement:

Bericht door ajaxusa » wo aug 22, 2007 12:45 am

The Ajax USA web site may go off-line for several days...

It's looking like we have a sudden and unexpected crisis with Ajax USA hosting. It's a long story, but the very short version is that the server might get pulled from the hosting facility as early as tomorrow (Wednesday), for sure within the next few days.

The good news is that when we do come back, we'll have a better, more robust web site. So... stay tuned for further announcements here.

Okay, crisis averted for now... We will most likely be moving our server, and probably porting our site to a new system, within the next 30 days. You can expect a few hiccups, but hopefully very few and brief actual outages. Stay tuned.

Ajax USA = down

Bericht door Kowalczyk » vr aug 31, 2007 8:43 am

Seems like Ajax USA is down, at the moment.

I do not know what's going on? Has the 'crisis' Jim announced a while ago occurred after all? I'm no sure.

One thing's for sure: we'll be back online as soon as possible...

Right.

Jim didn't tell me the story yet, but it seems like Ajax USA will be stay 'off air' for a while. Which is bad news.

We will, however, continue our service. Match reports will be posted in the appopriate threads in the Matches Zone. News reports in the appropriate threads in the other English-language zone.

Once Ajax USA is back up, we will publish all of those reports (news and matches) on Ajax USA, too, so that the archives will be up-to-date and fully intact.

We're very sorry about this inconvenient situation. It feels a bit like our little child is in a coma or something. Our apologies.

Okay then....

The "website" as such is back up...

http://www.ajax-usa.com

:headbang.gif: :headbang.gif: :headbang.gif: :headbang.gif: :headbang.gif:

The old content, the style, the navigation... they're not back yet. But the worst part is over, and I'm confident we'll be able to gradually restore all the old content and provide an even better design and user experience.

But it will take time. If this were my full time job it would take a couple of weeks. Doing it as a hobby, I can guarantee you the site will take a while to come back completely.

The good news... is that we're on a new service that will provide a lot of interesting new functionality... you can expect to see some more dynamic stuff - including the ability to comment on stuff!

Patience, friends...

Yesterday the site changed with match reports and news items all listed but no link to get into Ajax Talk!!

I am having to go direct to Ajax Talk rather than through Ajax USA.

I take it this is all part of restoring our site??

Er, yeah, that sounds like a template error. All the match reports and news items SHOULD link to the appropriate AT discussion thread. Lemme know if you find that's not the case: jim(at)ajax-usa.com

Jim

Yes the match reports do link to the AT discussion links for that match .

I am still getting in to AT general discussions direct as there is no link on our site as yet.

With the reconstruction I assumed that was correct ?

Enormous progress! I've got the red stripe running down the left side of the page. :drecul.gif:

The big task - importing all of the old legacy content (History stuff, all the old news and matches, all the GOOD stuff) - is still to come. But we're actually making progress.

No, honest. We are! :headbang.gif:

Getting very very close now, folks...

Have a "sneak peek" at the dev site.

Lots of old/outdated content, but don't worry; I'm going to be migrating and updating content throughout the weekend. If I'm successful, we can launch the new (old) site early next week!

:eusa_pray.gif:

I would appreciate if if you could email me with any errors you find OTHER than old/outdated content. Things like: broken links, f*cked up page layout (overlapping elements, etc.), page-not-found errors, missing/broken images, etc. Please email me at jmcgough(at)gmail(dot)com - and thanks!!!

PS: I already know that the home-page survey doesn't work yet. I'm working on that too.
