Long time no post from me... although i read this forum everyday..

"I don't want to talk to home" , but nobody @ Ajax had a look at Roland Juhász from Anderlecht as a possible solution for our defense problems ? I'm kinda surprised...
I know the guy very much,he played for my fav. team in Hungary, he started as a striker (!) , but then became a very decent centre back.. and he is from Hungary also.., and i would like to see him in Ajax , because i think he would be a player, who would fit in very well in our team.
Bayern Munchen fancy him lately, but these are only rumors..
Ko! Please talk to the Ajax management, and mention him!! ;) :)
What is your opinion guys about him?

i like him okay, but i would much much rather spend half the money for the younger and more "ajacied-esque" marek suchy

Well for one thing we have not lost a game in the eredivisie, we have only allowed 1 goal in two games, so that might create the ilusion that we are fine Until a descent team comes up and scores 4 or 5 goals on us i got a feeling the people upstairs is going to turn a blind eye.

I'm starting to believe that for now (say until january maybe) What we have is what we get....

My suspicion is that we are setting our sights on very good players, but that these players also of interest bigger/richer clubs. Our consistent underperforming, particularly in Europe, has significantly lowered the "aura" of playing for Ajax (in a "small" league).

Thats not what they mean BD, What they are saying is that we should be scouting and signing hidden diamonds, Obradovic,Elm,Suchy,Forlin....all fit the bill. I'm going to give a perfect example....for years Onyewu was playing in Belgium and nobody had put an eye on him...If Ajax's had done some good scouting maybe Onyewu would have come to Ajax before the Confederations Cup....But Ajax only got interested in him after the US made the run to the final's..at the same time the giant teams found out about him too....final result...Gooch to milan and us empty handed We just cant compete with those teams one on one so what we should be doing is buying diamonds in the rough before the whole world finds out about how good they are.

We have not been going after crap players, up until now i dont see a Delorge or worse Colin type signing (well maybe Verhoeven )

Sometimes i wish we could bring in scouts from AZ,Heerenveen and Groningen Then we would be in good shape.

We need a quality big central defender but we needed one last season and oh yes are we ever going to have a left back. Vermaelen played there most of last season but Vertonghen is still more adefensive MF
and Atouba is just another Urby , Shit defender but good going forward.

Without either we can kiss goodbye to this season. I am not impressed with what Jol has done or bought in so far. Will judge him properly at Christmas but with no defence he is not going to last here.

I was thinking of the air force, and specifically the ground crew. He'd be good at that. He could just stand around and watch stuff fly past him.

Of course other teams can find goalkeepers, but the key is that they are looking for goalkeepers. Ajax aren't even bothering. Because they think Steks and Vermeer are so bloody good. You'd think we'd be looking anyway. You never know, they might unearth a gem and sign him anyway... but nah, that would involve too much work.

In what way? Going after players that don't want to come here?

Typical Ajax to me is trying to buy back players from the club we sold them to a few years before.

That aside, I think he's the kind of striker that would fit in well up top with this squad. However, he's not going to improve the squad as a whole, we'll just score more goals. I honestly can't see him wanting to come back to the Eredivisie at this point. I don't think he lived up to his reputation at Middlesborough, but hasn't been a complete failure. He isn't wanting to come to Holland, but would rather try his luck in England, Spain or Italy (or even Germany).

I just don't see why we're even going after players like this, especially at this point in the season.
