Dutch u17 beat Switzerland 2-1 yesterday and will play Germany, again, in Monday's final.11.00 CET game on Eurosport.

Again only 2 Ajax players and Ligeon the right back was responsible for the Swiss goal with poor marking. I watched most of the game and the other Ajax player Koppers , a central defender looks ok.
Again Ozyakup,of Arsenal looked good and Madmar, a defensive midfielder from AZ looked good the others all come from Fword so the less said the better.

I'm overseas visiting family and caught the last half the match. Shaky defending by the Dutch side down the stretch and they were lucking not to concede a goal to send it into penalties. I didn't see enought to make a judgement on the two Ajax players. They will face a tough battle against Germany who looked good beating Italy yesterday.

Glad I am not the only person to have watched . The 2 Ajax lads are defenders and it is not a great year for Ajax at U17 this year. Last year we had Sneijder Castillion etc playing . I doubt Arsenal or Chelsea
will be signing Ligeon or Koppers. We have already lost 2-0 to Germany so the final will be hard.

I only saw the first 30 min of the game against Germany, and was surprised to see us lose. The German's didn't even look in the game at all to that point...

With only 2 players basically in the Dutch u17 it is no better at upper ages. The Dutch U19 squad for 3 qualifying games in European U19 championship has only Daley Blind in it with Sergio Padt and Rodney Sneijder on the standby list.To make matters worse Fword have the most in 4 players just like they did in the U17's.

The Dutch U20/future team for an international tourny in Toulon has just Siem de Jong and Jeffrey Sarong
out of a squad of 20 and no standbys. ( Wormgoor and Goossens released last season are also in the squad) This tournement should be on Eurosport as it usually is.

The Dutch u21 play a tourny in Toulon and games are on Eurosport trouble is Siem de Jong is out injured so we only have Jeffrey Sarpong ( 20 picked +5 standby and only 1 Ajax) As I have said last week only Daley Blind in the Dutch U19 and 2 in the full Oranje squad. Very poor .

Dutch U 19 and U21 in action with just 2 Ajax players involved.

U19 playing qualifying group for European Championships drew 0-0 with Belarus and Daley blind played.

U21 playing a tourny in Toulon lost the first game 4-0 to Argentina , and won the second 1-0 v UAE. Sarpong played both games. I watched the Argentina game and no dutch player impressed, sarpong did not do much. Vitesse's Buttner looked a useful left winger when he came on quite quick and a useful crosser.

Holland beat Iceland 2-1 to be the first Europeans to qualify for the WC in South Africa.

Stekelenburg played the whole match, conceded a late goal. Former man Nigel de Jong scored one.

Good news for the senior team first to SA.

Over the weekend Dutch U19 drew 1-1 with Slovenia, Daley Blind played. They play Russia this week and need to win to qualify for the finals of the European U19.

In Toulon Holland U21 drew 1-1 with Egypt to qualify for the semis . Sarpong did not play. I watched the first half and Holland were poor not sure the Egypt goalie touched the ball.

I call this the u21's but of course the senior U21 European championships are starting this week and Holland did not qualify.Not only in Ajax but Holland in general the U21 scene is thin on the ground.
Given our youth set up I find it quite depressing we are supplying just one player each to the U19 and u21.

Dutch U19 failed to Qualify fo Euro U19 finals even though they won their last game against Russia 1-0. Slovenia have beaten Belarus 2-0 and qualified on goal diff.

An easy win for the senior team I do agree their defence will be a little suspect when they get to the finals.

Finally in the Toulon U21 toury Holland lost the semi to Chile 1-1 after normal time but being Holland they lost 5-4 on penalties. Ricky van Wolfswinkel scored a good goal but sadly missed his penalty . Chile play France in the final and Holland play Argentina in the 3rd place game. Sarpong for the second game in a row did not come on the field.

last game of the summer , well for Dutch teams. Holland U21 lost 1-0 to Argentina in 3rd place playoff in toulon. Sarpong played for about an hour . I watched most of the game and again he looked very unimpressive as indeed did all the dutch team.

Dutch squad for England next month has Steks Van der Wiel and De Zeeuw .

U21 team play England U21 and a squad of 30 today includes 7 Ajax, Anita, Blind, Donald VdHeijden
deJong Sarpong and Padt(he is injured with a broken finger at (present) That is good as Fword have only 3 and PSV 2. Mind you apart from Padt they are all basically midfielders and whether any break through to become regulars is another thing.

An U21 game on 4 th sept and 6 from Ajax in a squad of 29. Anita Donald Blind Van der Heijden and de Jong( all played v England U21 last week by the way in a 0-0 ) plus Padt , now fit.

regards talent the Dutch U21 game this week has 6 Ajax out of 18 Donald Anita de Jong VdHeijden Blind and Padt.Not sure why Blind is not being snapped up on loan. Padt should be our no 3 this season and not Verhoeven!!

And I have already posted that the U 19 team this week will have 7 from our youth so there is certainly talent coming through and of course at U17 level we put about 6 under contract. Whether these kids come through is another matter but the above figures show we dominate the Ducth teams at U17,19 and 21 level.

At U21level Holland beat Finland 2-0 Siem de Jong scored . Donald and Anita also played.

More talent being used at lower levels as Holland u17 beat Turkey 4-1 with Hahn, Veltman, Ligeon Koppers Boere( who scored a goal) and Bouy all playing.

Finally the U19's are playing 3 games in a tourny and have beaten Portugal 3-1 and drew 1-1 with Ireland. Ebecilo scored a goal in each game . A meer 8 Ajax kids have appeared . Bizot,Van Rhijn, Burnet Bonevacia, Sneijder, Jozefzoon Ebecilo and Castillion. 7 of them played Portugal so it was a case of spotting who was not an Ajax player!
