About f*cking time... We're AJAX, we have a reputation to defend, and we can't afford to look a bunch of c*nts again. We had a good year in 2002-2003, but the two seasons before and the seasons thereafter we've looked like a bunch of average twats from Norway or Latvia (I say: Lausanne, Celtic, Copenhagen, Club Brugge and Tel Aviv - not exactly Europe's greatest that have been crapping all over us...).ZoefdeHaas schreef:Next season Ajax will give Holland some extra points
PSV and Feyenoord are way higher on the UEFA ranking than Ajax at the moment (last time I checked both of them had 65 points or so, whereas Ajax had 48). We're a complete joke in Europe at the moment and this must change next season, for f*ck's sake, thank you very much.

Still alive...
PSV has 84 points at the moment (13th place). If I'm not mistaken they are now in the second group of eight teams with the drawing of the CL groups. A huge advantage compared to Ajax (33th place with 52 points)! IF they even make it to the group stage :eusa_pray: , they might even end up in the fourth (and last) group of eight teams. :sad:Kowalczyk schreef:

Come on Liverpool. I don't want to see those Italian wankers getting a new CL trophy in their cabinet !!Amol schreef:So ummm....Liverpool are getting spanked in the final. I'm not watching the match, but is it really as lop sided as it looks?
Well anyway, I really didn't want Liverpool to get their 5th CL title before we got ours. This way we are still on the same spot on the 'Most CL medals won list.'
EDIT : AND 3-2 !!!!! KOM OP !!!!!!
meh :|
I just love Steven Gerrard. He's got everything. He's simple, gifted, he has the vision, the leadership, he gives everything on the pitch and he seems to be so kind and down to earth.... I love that player.Amol schreef:Yowza!!! Well if they can come back from 3-0 down to beat an Italian team, that too in a final, then they really deserve it.

My office manager Giorgia is from Milan. She dated Massimo Ambrosini for 18 months, and she knows almost alll the Milan players personaly.
At the moment that Crespo scored the 3 - 0 she said "That's it, Milan have lost. There's no way they can cope with a 3 - 0 lead in the second half."
She also correctly predicted the 3 -2 penalty score, BTW.

I'm not particularly pleased that Liverpool won, but the fact that Milan lost makes this whole thing worthwile. Particularly in the way that they did it. If Italian teams could lose meaningful games like that every year... Man, that would be awesome.sunny schreef:Carcajou schreef: I don't want to see those Italian wankers getting a new CL trophy in their cabinet !!

Best final ever...?
Possibly. I think so, actually. Porto vs Bayern (1987) was a great one and I remember one final in which Milan absolutely destroyed Steaua Bucharest (4-0), but otherwise they were pretty lame most of the time. Even Bayern vs Man Utd was shit except for the last minute.
I've seen Ajax play six European finals (1987, 1988, 1995, 1996 and a double UEFA Cup final in 1992) and the only ones that were exciting as a game (so not just because of the tension) were the 1992 UEFA Cup finals. Both legs were quite spectacular, even though the home leg was a 0-0, but Torino hit the post three times... The '87, '88, '95 and '96 finals were shit for the objective spectator.
As for Ajax's finals before I was born: the one against Milan (1969, 4-1 defeat) was a very good game, especially from Milan of course. 1971 (Panathinaikos in London) and 1973 (Juventus in Belgrade) were boring. The 1972 final (2-0 over Inter in Rotterdam) was a pretty impressive display from Ajax. I've never seen those games in full, though.

Technicaly speaking, I do not think it was that good, too many mistakes on both sides, but as for the scenario, it was great : those AC Milan show-offs and their so called world's best defense getting 3 in-your-face goals in 6 minutes, incredible.
This is a bad year for Berlusconi. And therefore a good one for football.
