same here. he uses both feet and at AZ played right. so paired with Denswil they could be a good choice, I agree.

As for the winger matter, I think Sana at the end could stay as a backup for Cuenca. He is quoted saying that FdB told him to focus on next season.

For the first time in a while the pantry of good young players appears to be quite full. I think this is what Cruijff was envisioning several years ago when he argued for sacking the management and reinventing Ajax with a focus on player development. I suspect that Maher will be the only significant transfer in to the club (he's expressed keen interest and I believe he still lives in Amsterdam) and maybe Cuenca returns for a second loan season if Overmars can work out the proper financing. For me the most interesting positions will be left back and holding midfield. Assuming Boilesen is back fit we will have three proper left backs (most teams are lucky just to have one!) but we all recognize that Poulsen was brought in only as a stop gap measure in the midfield (and he did have a wonderful season for us) but will be a year older next season. Will Blind make the switch to this position? There has been conjecture.

Thing is, considering all the boardroom drama, a lot of fans probably would have expected us to play so-so until our youth system was stocked up. Instead, we won three straight eredivisie titles. Lots to be happy about these days, but I'll never forget the Ten Cate/Koster/Van Basten days.

Let's see if we've learned our lesson from Sulejmani. I suspect we have. We're the three-time defending champions, so it's not like we need Maher. If he wants to play in Amsterdam at our price, great. If not, he can try to see what he's worth somewhere else. Maybe he can ask Vurnon Anita for advice on how well that works.

we may not need Maher.In todays People(Just another Sun type of paper) Eriksen has said if Liverpool do not come up with an offer in the next month and Dortmund do not want him he will sign another contract with us.

Would love to see Eriksen here for another year.If we lose Siem then I do not see us buying a replacement ,although we might get a loan from Barca

It's tricky. Maher and van Ginkel obviously have talent, but AZ and Vitesse are not going to let them go to a rival team for cheap. So, how good are they really? It's not like they have Champion league experience or something. It's a gamble. What's the limit for what we should pay?

Overmars pointed out that the Ajax way is to give a chance to players from our own youth system. Players like Klaassen, Andersen etc. could make the leap to the first team. If we bring in new expencive players it would be at the expence of our youth. Then again with players like Maher and van Ginkel we could have a team with potential to compete even in Europe. Tough call. Have to say that I would love to see us go through from the group stage in the CL. It's been a while since that happened.

I think the last 'big' transfer was Sigthorsson a couple of years ago and IIRC we paid €6M. I'm sure the club doesn't want to pay any more than this.

we have been carefull with transfers lately (after Sulejmani). Now it seems we're a bit desperate to have Maher. This could mean we're going to lose Eriksen. Hope he's worth it. Who knows, we could end up selling him with twice the money (wouldn't be the first time as we are great at helping young players take the next step).would be ready to "trade" Eriksen for Maher as i there is no more development to be expected for eriksen.

Well I like what I've seen of Maher. Don't really care about the €€ that much but Eriksen out for 15 M and Maher in for 8 M would seem like a decent bit of business to me.
