There was talk of a Champions League for u21 but in fact there will be for U19's next season with 16 teams involved.
Ajax are not taking part ,they feel there will be too much travelling and extra games for their players especially with youth Ints taking place throughout the season.

I thought playing youth from other teams would be good experience but our A1 do play about 30 league and cup games in a season
and are still playing tournements through to June.The younger ones are of course still at school.

According to Ajax Netwerk , Ajax A-1 lost the final of the Terborg Tournament to Cruzeiro by 1:1 , 6-7 on penos .

The A1 won their semi on penalties so bad luck losing the same way .

Just picked up a story that one young 15 year old from our C1 youths appears to have been invovled in a stabbing in Amsterdam.

Well having read we cannot contract any new youngsters until the new board is in place today Ajax officially confirm that 16 year old B2 striker Sheraldo Becker has signed a 3 year contract . Picture on OS with parents means he must have signed today!

The lad is quoted as saying this is the happiest day of his life . Sad that the other youth news of the day is the 15 year old C1 youth who is involved in a stabbing.

17 year old Nick de Bondt officially signed a 3 year contract today joining from Vitesse.

17 year old striker Jordi Bitter now signs a 3 year contract to 2014.He has been playing for our B1 team and is in the Dutch U17 WC this month.

qezu asked about our B1 ie U17's .

They played in a world club tournement this week in Spain but lost all 3 games. 3-2 to Barcelona, 1-0 to Brazil's Corinthians and 3-1 to A Madrid and thus out of the comp.

They were without their 3 Dutch U 17 players who are all preparing for the World U17 Championships starting next week and dutch matches on Eurosport ie Leewenburgh the goalie and forwards Gravenberch and Bitter. In addition the highly rated Ricardo Kishna is injured .

On the U17's World cup de Bondt who is soon to be our player has dropped out with injury . Leewenburgh and Gravenberch will only be subs and possibly Bitter the same. Most of the squad are from Fword . Well out of 7 from the enemy from Rotterdam Ebecilio has already played last season with Arsenal and Ake has joined Chelsea and Rekik plus parents have sold themselves to Man City . Very sad for F word who have no money and wont get anything out of them plus dutch footy as the kids would probably develop better by staying in Rotterdam.

I see that ESPNU has the U-17 match between Netherlands and Congo on the tv schedule at 18.30 hours here in the states.

Dutch U 17 had a bad start to the WC with a 1-0 defeat to Congo. Gravenberch played for an hour and he was the only one of our 3 who played. Bitter ,who signed a 3year contract last week is an unused sub but Gravenberch who has no contract plays. I think he he was the only on the pitch who has no pro contract. I hope he is happy with this situation !!!

Ajax have not offered a contract to 17 year old Terel Ondaan the left winger from our A1's, who made 3 Jong appearances at the end of the season. With de Bondt also a left winger being signed Ondaan is evidently unhappy and joining AZ , where I assume he will get a contract and likely play in their Jong team. 24 youths now are under contract for us but the above 2 probably ought to be as well! It is not as if they will cost much in wages ! I hope Ondaan does not turn out to be another Elia .

Cheers for this . I did see the list on Ajaxshowtime end of last week but cannot cut and paste . Ajax showtime are the best for youth as they list all players, show dob, place of birth and most weeks have brief match reports and show the lineups down to C1 . The A2 to C2 are likely to be the final squads . B1 down are age groups ie B1 U 17, B2 U16 and so on.

Not sure if this will be the final list for Jong as 1 or 2 may be officially first teamers,1or 2 may still go out on loan .The A1 shows 23 which is at least 5 too many. Denswil, Bouy ,Klaasen de Sa may all be promoted to the Jong squad. In addition Terrel Ondaan has not yet been offered a contract but has said he is off to AZ who have offered him one.

Jordi Bitter and Danzell Gravenberch both played against North Korea in the U-17 WC. Gravenberch got the tying goal as the match finished 1-1. It will be tough to make it out of the group as they lost their first match against the Congo and still have Mexico to play.

Terel Ondaan ,17 year old left winger from our A1 team has indeed signed a 2 year contract with Az as Ajax have not offered him a contract .

The A1 list for next season ,as listed earlier in the week by Orange Goblin, still includes about 6 wingers,

de Bondt , Lazic,Lizardo,de Sa are all out an out wingers but Gravenberch plays on the wing, Fischer can and Bitter also although I think he was mainly central striker for B1 last season .

Together with Schoop ,who is a central striker,thats 8 forwards so not sure they will all end up in the A1 . Last season the A1 only had 4 main forwards ie Lukoki, Boere,de Sa with Ondaan mainly sub .

But for injury 16 year old B1 left winger Kishna would have been in the A1 squad for next season.

Dutch U 17 lost 3-2 to Mexico and are out the WC U17. Gravenberch started but after 30 mins Bitter subbed him .

I saw that earlier today. Interesting. I do know that Sporting Lisbon and obviously Barcelona along with Ajax have usually been known to do well with it's youngsters. Liverpool is building up a good youth system since the one individual moved over to Liverpool from Barcelona to help with their system during the Rafa coaching years.

The Next Gen series starts to day (ie Junior CL) our A1 play Aston Villa U19's . Will be nice to see us win tonight . As players born in 1992 can play I think some of our Jong players can play as well as our A1 stars like Klaassen and Denswil

ajax A1 currently leading Villa U19 2-0 halfway through the second half. de Bondt scored in the first half and Fischer the young Dane scored soon after HT having only just come on as a sub .
