Hey, great news! We know the little beauty will not only be an Ajax fan, but she'll listen to good music and she'll crack wise all the time. Plus, Dad will make sure she loves America, so I might even get to show her my city of San Francisco some day...
Congratulations, Ko. You'll be a great dad, of course.
(Today is my son Ryan's birthday. He's twelve, but he still sleeps with an Ajax teddy bear named Jari. Don't tell him I told you that...)

Yes to Ajax. Yes to San Francisco (my hometown too). Yes to the teddy bear named Jari. Sounds like a kids' book waiting to happen - get busy!ajaxusa schreef:Hey, great news! Thanks very much, everybody. These are wonderful times.
Janneke (my girlfriend) and little Elin are very, very well.
She's so beautiful, you know... And so sweet.
I put a few pictures up on Facebook, if you're interested: check 'em out.

This is truly one of the best little soccer video clips I have ever seen. It's like a Chekhov short story. Short, evocative, and devastating. Every goalkeeper in the world should be made to watch this video. No... every athlete in the world should watch it. It is so... educational.

This happened to my team once. I was 7 and we played the semi finals in a tournament where the winner would play Ajax. Our goal keeper stopped the final penalty in the shoot out but the ball bounced and span back in the goal. There was a huge upset because nobody knew the rules. Apparently the balls direction is determined by the first bounce after the goal keeper stopped it. And therefore the goal stood and we didn't play Ajax. I blocked this experience for many years. Thank you for releasing it again.... ;)

Guys, I'm goofing around with the ajaxusa.com domain settings (doing some testing for a friend's non-profit website), so don't be too surprised if you see something odd there. (ajax-usa.com should still point to our friendly old, long-dormant web site.)

Re: Grab Bag Of Random Posts
Was at the World Powerboat Championships today and ran into Louis Van Gaal who was in town to shill for Qatar's WC 2022 bid. I was about to try to convince him to come back to Ajax, board be damned, but couldn't catch up to him before he walked away. I should see him tomorrow, maybe I can persuade him then.

Re: Grab Bag Of Random Posts
Hey guys,
Just had a quick question for the English fans around here. Do you happen to know how I can get tickets for a home game of Leeds United? I want to visit the game against Middlesbrough on the 1st of January and I was looking around how to buy tickets from Holland, but I can't really find the answer. Seems that I need a Club Membership or something.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Grab Bag Of Random Posts
I'm not familiar with procedures at Leeds but I'd be very surprised if you needed a membership card to get a ticket. Middlesbrough are a recent Premier League team though not a "big" name as such although being 1st January this game will probably sell out. From looking at their website the membership requirement seems to relate to how many reduced price tickets a member can buy in the family stand.Justin schreef:Hey guys,

Why don't you just give them a ring or e-mail them? This game won't sell out for ages yet (assuming it does at all) and I'm sure they'll be happy to sell you a ticket.
Edit: Had a look at the New Years Day fixtures for you. If you can't get a ticket for any reason (and assuming that you're in the Leeds area) you could do worse than Sheffield Wednesday v Peterborough United in League One. Assuming that the trains are running you can get there easily from Leeds and Hillsborough is a massive ground and you shouldn't have any problem I'm sure just buying a ticket on the day.

Great. Thanks for the info (also about the other fixture). Will send them an email.

Since I didn't understand a word of it, I think Menno was FAR more interesting that boooring old Denny Bergkamp.
