Re: Former Ajax Players
do you remember Bruno Silva? Well. The RB is interested in a return to A'dam in january, 'cause not even at Internacional has found too much space. ok, if ajax has nothing against, maybe it's a decent backup for van der wiel.

Re: Former Ajax Players
I don't really care where KJH goes to.
So long as he plays REGULARLY!!
Ditto with Rafael!
I still want ex-ajacieds to play well and regularly.
Ryan Babel must leave Liverpool as well!
Now if Urby was smart, he'd realise that he should just NOT leave, sign an extension and at least get a regular spot here... . Same goes for Siem and Gregory!

Our old mate Nourdin Boukhari goes to Wisla Krakow. His previous club, Kasimpasa SK, loaned him to Poland for one year.

Re: Former Ajax Players
It's reported here that, he was up for 18million, but redknapp found out at 4pm he was available for 8million to get shut of him. so he rushed it through. not sure if its gone through in time, but if it has hes moved to tottenham on a permanent deal for 8million pound.ZoefdeHaas schreef:Not Babel, but Van der vaart may well sign for Tottenham on a season long loan with option to buy
BARGAIN!
fantastic signing if its true.
Re: Former Ajax Players
Our old amigo Markus Rosenberg will be spending this season on loan with Racing Santander. Good think it's not a permanent transfer as Racing are a prime candidate for relegation and looked rather poor last weekend.

Rafaël van der Vaart to Spurs. Ajax receive 550,000.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to Schalke. Ajax receive 200,000.
That's the bonus you get for a win in the Champions League, roughly. Not bad.

A bonus not budgeted for I think so why not use it to reduce the scandalously high CL ticket prices implemented by the clubKowalczyk schreef:Rafaël van der Vaart to Spurs. Ajax receive 550,000.

That amount is the sum we will have to pay Barcelona for Oleguer ie we agreed to pay 750000euros every year we reached the CL groups .

Who signed him again? MvB? or HtC? Was it MvG in charge of the finances then?

Re: Former Ajax Players
I did pick this up last week when we qualified. MvB signed him and MvG was in charge of finances.
Re: Former Ajax Players
From our glory days!!! Jari Litamen is still playing for the Finnish NT and saw about 70 minutes of duty in midfield yesterday. He'll face some of the current Ajax players when Finland play the Oranje in the next Euro match.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Interesting... Interesting...
Holland manager Bert van Marwijk has dropped Nigel de Jong from the Oranje squad, because of his foul against Hatem Ben Arfa last weekend...
Hmmm... It was a hideous foul, of course, but kicking him out of the squad for the national team...? Do I agree? I'm not quite sure...

I wonder if the Dutch very physical/dirty performances in South Africa (specifically Van Bommel and de Jonge) is now seen as slightly embarassing despite the rhetoric from the Dutch FA.
I think more people remember the de Jonge 'karate kick' than anything else from that final.
Perhaps that was why this 'political' decision was taken.
Not that that justifies it mind you ...

Re: Former Ajax Players
I think you've hit the nail on the head, M.P. When you talk to people about Oranje in the World Cup they never mention football, it's all about van Bommel's multiple brutal fouls and De Jong's drop-kick.
I think this has embarrassed the KNCB, and they are looking to change Oranje's image.

Re: Former Ajax Players
Definitely so. Furthermore, literature from quite 'prominent' people (David Winner; international newspapers; but also the staff of 'Hard Gras') has been published last August, containing suggestions with a wide range of consequences: for example the addition of a chapter to Brilliant Orange called 'Criminal Orange'. There were also plea's for measures with more impact, one of them being the removal of De Jong from the national team.
That might also have been a factor in Van Marwijk's choice. I wouldn't be suprised.

Re: Former Ajax Players
I watched some of the Man City v Newcastle game on ESPN. The weird thing is that listening to the commentators (Kevin Keegan was one of them) there was nothing wrong with the challenge on Ben Arfa and anyway De Jong "isn't that type of player". I suppose they obviously didn't watch the World Cup final eh.....
I also read today in the Independent (here http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 96834.html) that De Jong was known as the Rassenmaher ("lawnmower") back in his Ajax days. I must have missed that one, certainly don't remember it or De Jong being anything like the dirty player he is now.
