Sorry to hear this - he was one of my most favorite players - there was no one better than him when it came to man marking. Though not as glamorous a player as those he played alongside of (Riijkard, Seedorf, etc.), he was every bit as valuable. Best of luck to him in his future career.

I'm back after a long hiatus from here. Watching Schreuder's Ajax had killed my spirit.

That's exactly the same thing that happened with me - couldn't stand to watch what was happening. Hopefully we'll be playing a lot better style of football from now on.

Nice to see someone actually take a shot when the opportunity is there instead of the usual attempt to pass it into the net - and failing. Nice give and go down the sideline and a very nice finish. Good for Taylor.

Not being on the sideline I can't say definitively, but from the replays it didn't look too me as if the entire ball was over the line - I thought the call was correct.

Ajax played the first 30 or so minutes exactly the way I have wanted them to all season long. Fast forward movement, accurate incisive passing. They're killing their own attacks with all the stopping and turning back. All the teams seem to have figured out how to stymie us and EtH has to come up with a change of plan.

Ajax could take lessons from Utrecht on how to counterattack.

Hooray! Finally a game at a reasonable hour - really been missing my Ajax fix. Let's hope that with all the recent success the boys don't get complacent. Looking forward to a well played game and a good win.

Nice to see a smooth functioning turnaround from last week's debacle, but truth be told, Vitesse didn't put up any serious resistance. Let's hope the boys can do as well when faced with a team that offers a stronger challenge.

Funny hearing mention of football under FdB because it's exactly what I thought of watching the game. Something needs to be done to liven up that slow, plodding midfield, and the quality of the passing - along with the choice of who to pass to - needs a lot of improvement.

Same problem here. I missed at least half the games last season because of it.

Nice that we could finish with some pizzazz. It wouldn't have felt as good if we won on a lackluster performance. Would have been nice if there were fans in the stadium, though. Just have to do it again next year, I suppose.

Aside from the first 15-20 minutes, Emmen clearly the better team. Let's hope we do better next half.

The substitution bringing on Maz and Neres for Rentsch and Antony really turned the game around - they finally started playing with a purpose.

Terrible half of football - lose every 50/50 duel -can't put two attacking passes together - clearing balls all go to the other team - lucky to still be in it at 0-0.

Why take a clear shot at net when you can make three or four pitty pat passes that eventually get cleared harmlessly away instead? Must be deep strategic thinking going on. Walking the ball into the goal must be worth more than shooting it in.

If this team would learn to counterattack like an Italian team, we could have had a half dozen more goals.

When you miss as many gold plate chances as we did, there's always the feeling that it will come back to haunt you.

I don't know why we are waisting our time with Kotarski - there is not one single game that I have seen where he has looked anything but woefully poor.

Only saw the highlights, but our goalie looked good - made some outstanding goal saving stops.

Said it before, I'll say it again - the minute a player signs with Raiola, drop him from the club.
