According to newspaper Algemeen Dagblad De Graafschap would like to land Siem de Jong on a loan deal. He is originally from De Graafschap and his brother, Luuk, is playing for them this season.

I would say... no, thanks, not a good idea.

Siem has not been great in recent months, but I do believe he is a good player. Let's keep him in the squad.

Even if he'd be an undisputed good player, playing for De Graafschap would not be such a bad deal, not for him and not for Ajax.

Being a good player is no guarantee for being part of the Ajax line-up. Therefore, his development could benefit from a temporary move to Doetinchem.

He is probably too good for that lot after all he tries to play football !!!

Siem could benefit from going out on loan though.

For those who missed the news: Siem de Jong broke his collarbone when he was brought down by Heracles goalkeeper Pieckenhagen. He will be out for some time.
