Ajax have had some tough matches , and dropped points as I recall , vs. NAC. I hope we can send them a good footballing message in this game . One that will be in the recesses of their minds before we tangle in the Beker.

Notice NAC have 3 former Feyenoord players, Kolkka, Mtiliga and Lurling, I know they are crap...but its worth noting, as a lot of the times ex-Feyenoorders always come back to haunt Ajax. Another thing, apparently their goal keeper is not bad, Jelle ten-Rouwelaar.

You may not feel like thanking me after you start watching -- I can't remember when I've ever seen them play this bad.

Urby is having a nightmare but to be fair so are the rest of the team. Very lucky not to have conceded a penalty at 1-0 down as Urby blatently pulled a shirt in the penalty area but the guy stayed up.

We couldn't play a lot worse in the 2nd half - at one point the possession was 62% - 38% in NAC's favour so the scoreline is fair (and they could be 2 or 3 up...)

Come on Ajax :onfire.gif: :ajaxsmiley.gif: :ajaxscarf.gif:

Rommedahl on for de Jong -- I was hoping it was Luque who was coming off -- but no such luck.

3-1 final score.

Unbeaten Streak over and down to second place tied with F-word...Crappy Day...although i really think we would have won this one if we had put away our chances.,..the second goal by amoah sums it all up.

it seems that getting rid of HTC was not enough to get back on tracks...

(did anyone say it would be...?)

So, there it is: our first defeat of the season. It had to happen one day, especially given our problems in defense. It's a bit of a miracle that we remained unbeaten 'til December.

The better team won today. We totally deserved this defeat. NAC were well organized, rock-solid at the back and they played very good football, too. A very good side.

Some thoughts about Ajax...

1. This must have been the worst game Urby Emanuelson ever played.
2. Ogararu had an absolute stinker, too, which makes for two piss-poor fullbacks.
3. Ajax have the best forward line of the season so far, but today they were the Three Invisible Men (which is a major compliment to NAC's defenders, particularly Zwaanswijk and Penders, who were fantastic).

This had to happen one day. Too bad. Roll on the next one: Willem II away.

K.

With both fullbacks having stinkers we only had one other proper defender Heits as Vertonghen is a midfielder. VdWeil should be back next week but at the moment the team that played today is our strongest we can put out.
There are no fit experienced midfielders to bring back before January and the only fit defender in reserve is Colin !!!!!

In fact of the injured only Davids and Vermaelen for De Jong and Vertonghen would improve the side . Our squad is therefore not strong enough!

Would point out that Heits and Maduro both have 4 yellows so if either get another next week they will miss PSV.

Still our first defeat in 13 is still a good record .
