Is any1 going to Croatia to see (hope not, though) the next fiasco of our beloved team? I live about 100 kms from Zagreb so i am planning to go there but i need some information about tickets. I am an ajax fan AND Slovene, so going to the main stand probably wouldnt be the best thing to do, knowing the capability of zagrebs fans. The best thing for me would therefore be to buy tickets for the away sector - will that be possible in zagreb or must i reserve the tickets via Ajax? Any info is welcome...

Obtaining tickets to the Ajax sector will be absolutely impossible, I'm afraid... The rules for that are very strict: basically, you have to be a season ticket holder and holder of a registered 'European away card'. Otherwise: no way, unless you visit - in person - the Supporters Desk at the ArenA to have your picture taken and sign a 'code of conduct'.

This is the official story. Having said that, I must add that I have been to European away games (in Italy, particularly) where touts/scalpers were offering tickets to the Ajax sector outside of the stadium, sometimes at ridiculously cheap prices. I remember a game against Inter: all of us had 45 euro tickets, purchased the official way at the ArenA. In front of the San Siro some dude was selling tickets for the Ajax end (which was nowhere near sold out) for 8 euros...

If I were you I would buy a ticket for a 'safe' stand of the ground (main stand or another stand without nutters) and, with that in your pocket, see what you can do on match day, outside of the ground. Who knows you'll bump into a scalper with tickets for the Ajax end, or maybe you can talk your way into the away end ("I'm an Ajax supporter, so the safest option is to let me into this section!").

Great you want to go there, by the way. Respect for that. :ajax.gif:

Thanks for the info, Ko, i didnt know things are so strict these days...

Were talking about croats here, so the only non-nutters place will be the away sector :) I guarantee you, there is absolutely NO way for me to buy a ticket for a "safe" stand, simply because there is no SAFE stand with dinamo fans around me :) I cant imagine what would have happened if ajax scored and id be on the "wrong" part... I have bad experience with croatian football fans, so thats a big no-no.

Anyway, i just called their information desk (no need to say the operator became rude as soon as i told him i am from slovenia..) and here is the thing - it IS possible to buy the away sector tickets BUT only on three locations in zagreb. So if i want to see the game i must go to zagreb on one of these days. Ill probably do it...

Referee for Thursday: Stéphane Lannoy from France.

Let's hope he's a cool dude, who doesn't care about the atmosphere and hates hot-tempered players.

I have high hopes on this one.
Not necessarily a victory, but a good result like a 1-1 draw leading to qualification.
And pride, not shame.

This game could simply become the make or break game off the season, thats not saying everything will be back to normal afterwards but really...Ajax will hit rock bottom if they fail to at least qualify for the later stages of the Uefa Cup. This could get us back on track...at least for now.

COME ON GUY`s....

HUP AJAX.

Team news on Ajax Netwerk...

Kennedy still injured (abdomen). He won't make the trip to Zagreb.

Stam, Ogararu and Stam are fit and ready to play (thank God).

Young Ajax's Siem de Jong (18 y.o., offensive midfielder) has been added to the squad.

40,000 tickets for the game at the Maksimir were sold out in ten minutes' time. Stadium will be packed.

Stam, Ogararu and Stam. Looks like a steady defense to me.

Yep, very solid, especially with two Stams. :smallgrin.gif:

Even with Emanuelson instead of a second Stam, that would look good.

Well yeah, that was actually the point I was trying to make.

Thank God part of my prayers will be answered...now its just John Goosens and Jan-Arie Van der Heijden that need to be called up to the first team.

Goossens is great. His time will come - and he knows it.

Jan-Arie van der Heijden... Stylish footballer, but he might be a little slow for his position. Siem de Jong seems a more dynamic type. More of a runner.

Would be quite something for him: his Ajax-1 début in front of 40,000 Croatian nutters going absolutely mental.

In awhile, now that Luque is on board, Suarez is perferred on the left and so is a fit Mitea....

I just hope results go our way

Ajax seems to have a problem with these Eastern European teams, for some reason. But my feeling is that we will come out of this one ok.

Halftime 0:0 ... couple of decent saves by Stekelenburg, that's about it.

Seems like Ajax players have no idea how to score :confused.gif:

Yeah not entirely impressive, but I'd be satisfied with a goalless draw in the first leg, away.
