By the way: Heijblok... The combination 'eij' is one of those intimidating Dutch combinations of vowels. Drives foreigners insane. But the pronounciation is quite simple, actually. Just pronounce his name as 'high block' or 'hi-block', stressing the 'high' syllable - and you'll be just fine. That's as close to the correct pronounciation as you can get.

I always thought the "uij," as in Cruijff or Kuijt was even more difficult for English speakers to pronounce. It always cracks me up when the EPL commentators call him "Dirk Kite." Makes him sound like some kind of porn actor.

Penned a contract at De Graafschap today. He was Ajax's third goalkeeper for one season. One official appearance: in the KNVB Cup game against Kozakken Boys.
