The KNVB Cup: the only piece of silverware Ajax can still grab.

The quarter final is this Wednesday at 20:45 CET: an away match at Willem II in Tilburg. The other quarter finals:

FC Utrecht vs AZ
NAC Breda vs PSV
RKC Waalwijk vs Roda JC

Team news!

Zdenek Grygera has been deemed 100% fit. He returned as a sub against AZ last weekend, but is now deemed ready for the starting eleven.

George Ogararu picked up a groin injury against AZ and is definitely out for tonight. Which is a shame. I thought he was our best man in Alkmaar. Tremendous game.

There are two 'question marks', as they say: Perez (hamstring injury) and Babel (a bruise of some sort). They will undergo a final test this morning, just like Urby Emanuelson, who might return to the squad (but probably not the starting line-up).

Kick-off in Tilburg: 20.45 CET this evening! Game will be shown live on Tien (formerly known as Talpa).

0-1 Ajax!!

Thru-pass from Sneijder, KJH on side, slips past the goalkeeper - goal.

Good goal. Good start from Ajax anyway.

Good goal? It started with a defensive fuckup and ended with Huntelaar almost blowing it by wandering too far to the right.

Not that it really matters. An Ajax goal is always good, even if it isn't good.

Half-time: 0-1 Ajax.

First half hour was very good. 70% possession for Ajax, an enormous chance for Heitinga. Should have been 0-2 at the least. Willem II had a few dangerous moments in the latter 15 minutes, in which Ajax lost control a little bit.

The only 'bad' news: Jaap Stam has been replaced. Minor injury. Did not look too serious, though.

For a guy who's having a bad year, KJH scores a shitload of goals.

And now it's 3... :D

edit : strange coaching by the way... Koeman replaced 2 forwards by a midfielder and a defender...
