The game that could have been an absolute cracker... Now it all feels a little bit different.

Still, should be a great one.

I expected Ajax to trash Excelsior....did not happen, now i expect AZ to trash us...probably wont happen. Lets see how this turns out. This ajax is capable of the best and the worst in every single game, you never know wich ajax might show up for this one.

One things for sure....we need to win. :eusa_pray:

Right, let's forget about the Excelsior game. The gap is five points, with nine games to go. 'What could have been' is irrelevant; fact is that we still have a chance. AZ away, Twente away and PSV away are 'must-wins' now, that's for sure.

I think we have the quality to win this game. We just need the mental toughness to play consistently well. And we cannot afford to make a single mental error.

This team has recovered from poor showings in the past this season. It is time to do it again.

No doubt that Ajax will play better than against Excelsior. They fought that Excelsior would get down on the knees and beg for quick death, and it was their biggest mistake. Bad team showed that a will to fight could be a big change. Ajax have to show the same in a game against AZ.

Yes according to Ajax Netwerk. He should play on the left.

Our problems with first squad do not look as serious as AZ's. Joey Didulica, Stijn Schaars, Simon Cziommer, David Mendes da Silva, Rogier Molhoek and Barry Opdam probably won't play, so it will be much easier to win ;).

Left back or central left? Urby seems to be returning to the squad as well

Leftback :

Stekelenburg
Ogararu, Heitinga, Stam, Grygera
Gabri, Sneijder, Davids,
Leonardo, Huntelaar, Babel

I read on thursday that only one of the two would start the game and that the final decision would be taken yesterday. We'll see but it is not as worriyng as against Werder at least.

Van Gaal : “Edgar knows he is always welcome here. But he completed a deal with Ajax in the January transfer window. Well, we all make mistakes, don’t we?” concluded Van Gaal with a smile.

He is a bit big-mouthed, isn't he? :D

Stekelenburg, Ogararu, Stam, Heitinga, Davids, Gabri, Sneijder, Perez, Leonardo, Huntelaar, Babel

3-4-3 against AZ? i'm not sure about that.. maybe davids will play as left fullback and it's gonna be 4-3-3

davids given two quick soft yellows, especially the first, which was full simulation by jenner

yet another in a loooooooooong line of officiating farts against AJAX over the last few years... too bad the ref is a fuckwit, was really a lively first half

0-0 HT

Down to 10 men - Davids red carded near the end of the first half.

Question: Do you have to be a complete and utter clown to to qualify as a referee in Eredivise?

First yellow was a joke.Anyone else have the urge to turn off the commentary on Setanta, Stapleton is truely awful.

True....none of the fouls deserved a yellow, what the hell are these refs looking at :pukey:

At the least the formation shouldent change...we can play 3-3-3

PS: I think were gonna win with a Sneijder free kick ;)

It looked to me that neither time was it even a foul -- from what I could see he got the ball both times -- still in all, David's brings it on himself (over and over again), by never knowing how to keep his mouth shut and just get on with the game.
