Stam is suspended and Grygera is injured. It's been obvious for quite some time that we need to sign a centre-back, so Van Geel and Ten Cate need to get one in quick before the transfer window closes. Playing Vermaelen and Hetinga in the centre fills me with fear.

Why? They did the business at the end of last season.

They are both capable of playing well, but it seems that they are guaranteed to make one completely boneheaded play per game, which scares me. I don't think it is coincidence that Stam was absent from the middle when Ajax blew that lead against Vitesse. One of those goals, iirc, came after Vermaelen got a rush of blood and lunged at his man, completely missing, and allowing him to get to the wing to cross. Opponents seem to target Ajax with crosses, and having Stam in there is a great insurance policy.

Well, they can't learn if they never play.

------------------------------- Steks --------------------------------

Ogararu ------------ Heitinga ----- Vermaelen---------- Urb -----

Gabri ----------------------- Sneijder -------------------- Davids --

De Mul ------------------------- KJH ------------------- Babel ---

Leonardo to come on as a sub, on the hour or so, and I have a feeling that he will kick some major arse against his old club.

im not sure about babel... might replace him with Leo... otherwise Babel as a striker and Huntelaar on the bench... I think Leonardo should start!

Do you think Leo is fit enough to start and play 90 or even 60 minutes? My assumption was that he wasn't quite ready for that.

Leo is fit enough for an entire 90 minutes, but Leonardo's ultimate weapon is his explosive acceleration. If Leo plays from the start, he will be useless in de second half. I would start with Babel, because he is a constant threat to the defense of feyenoord. He will tear the feyenoord defense and Leo will finish it off.

Hell yeah, 3-2 AZ! Gotta have all 3 points tomorrow, especially considering PSV still has to play at Nijmegen and Utrecht. I figure they'll drop at least one of those, plus with us playing them once the CL is back up in full swing means we might just still have a chance.

I wouldn't hope for too much from NEC or Utrecht. If anything, I'm counting on PSV slipping up at NAC and at home v's Twente.

Utrecht has only lost once at home - to Ajax. And yeah, Twente could give them a run. Too bad we have to play them too, but at Arke...

I wouldn't be counting on any team just yet against PSV, only Ajax's crucial game tonight.

Feyenoord have made slight improvements throughout the campaign and Ajax are now without Stam so defensivley there could be small problems.

Huntelaar hasn't scored much but he does have a history against Feyenoord so I would still start with him.

No doubt about it. But unfortunately, we're in a position where we are going to have to get some help to catch "the lightbulbs". At least a worst-case scenario trip to the CL playoffs seems to be getting pretty secure.

Links for the game and software to view: http://myp2p.eu/index.htm

ppmate is usually the best .... Chinese commentary

Sopcast will have Dutch commentary ..... video not as good as ppmate

TVants .... Chinese commentary.

None of them working for me - as usual - don't know why they can do English football so well but consistently mess up on the Dutch football. Most frustrating.
