It's inevitable that the whole country will be talking about Ajax vs PSV this week, but let's not forget that there's a KNVB Cup job to do on Thursday evening!

I say: rest Stam and leave Huntelaar out of the team. Play some of the boys who really have something to prove. Give Manu a shot from the start. Play Lindenbergh (good performance as a sub today!). Play Rosenberg. And Roger. They will want to prove themselves.

Seriously, people: let's take this one seriously. The PSV game is the 'big one', but we don't want to crash out of the cup in the third round!

And against these wankers....we just have too win, dont risk any important players and kick their ass anyway.

Henk ten Cate has not made up his mind yet: will he leave some of his key players (Stam, Gabri) out of the squad - or not?

According to Ajax Netwerk Nicolae Mitea might return to first team action in this game!

I fully agree, that's the good strategy :
1-the p$v game is crucial
2-our subs can prove they deserve better

Uno a Zero. Rosales to Jaap Stam. :cheer:

1st half 1-0: about 8 chances or I should say mostly half chances for Ajax. 2 for ADO. Boring match. Boring atmosphere. So boring that the Radio 1 commentator wants to hang himself.

65 mins. 2-0. Rosales to KJH. :cheer:

Mitea in for Rosales. Welcome back!

Radio 1 commentator: "8 minutes to go and both teams seem to have gone home already". :D

Why were Stam and Huntelaar playing?

Jan Mulder was pretending to be asleep in the Talpa studio. Then again, maybe he wasn't pretending.

That surpassed Ajax vAustria Wien for boredom.

Ajax v ADO - Boredom factor of 10

Ajax V Austria Wien - Boredom factor of 9

PSV - Boredom factor: unquantifiable

Ach DWS, at least I had good old Sean in "Goldfinger" to watch on the other channel - yi cannae beat a bit of Pussy Galore.

Re Stam and Huntelaar playing - probably played Stam because he didnt play last Sunday so a bit of match practice before the game on Sunday which seems quite sensible. As for KJH I would say at the moment the more matches the better - remember he came of an injury not long ago and his goal scoring form is nowhere near last season so again match practice with the added bonus of a goal which can only be good for morale.

It was Sneijder's turn to sit one out. And I guess that Ten Cate knew that JS en KJH might score goals today. Stam actually played really well today.

Update for Ko:

It looked like Ajax was going to sleepwalk over Den Haag into the next round, but then...

84' Stam sent off for headbutting the referee (he'll miss the PSV match, and several others).
89' Tininho receives yellow card for Al Qaeda-like attack on Huntelaar. The Hunter may resume training in six months.
91' 2-1 Goal by Vreven.
92' 2-2 Own goal: Vermaelen accidentally passes ball through Steeks legs into net.
94' Manucharyan trips over exploding dildo thrown into the box from second tier. Grygera fires the penalty shot against the post.
96' 2-3 Bosschaert slaloms through the Ajax midfield and defense, Maradona style, and nets the ball in the final second of injury time.

99' Henk ten Cate resigns.
