And there is that much hated logo again on the Ajax USA homepage...

Feyenoord vs Ajax... It's already itching.

It's a very American way of saying: chill.

Today's match against Groningen should give Feijenoord good hopes of scoring a couple of goals against us. Our much praised defense somehow concedes a lot of 'em. With Babel out with knee-injury and KJH plain out of form they just might get the funny idea of beating us. :X

Ai! This is not a good sign. If I recall correctly; you thought that Feijenoord would beat us in last year's play off. Unless you have dramatically improved at predicting, you saying that Ajax will win this one puts us in great danger of certain defeat.

You're right. This isn't good. Steef has always sucked at predictions.

Come on guys, lets look at the facts, Feyenoord only have 2 or 3 decent players, de Guzman, Tiendialli and Castelen(Injured). They have plenty of injury worries aswell. Forgive me for being over optimistic but I think we are going to slaughter them.

Final Score: Kakkerlakkern 1-7 Ajax Amsterdam

Tiendalli?? An old youth of ours. 2/3 years ago he was chucked out as a19 year old and not thought good enough for a season in our reserves. In his couple of seasons at Utrecht I note he made the Dutch U21 . He would appear to be one of the better ones we got rid of. Looking around there are alot of ex Ajax youths. Where would the Dutch league be without our Youth system!!!

The point Steef was trying to make is: don't be afraid of Tiendalli.

F-word will be a tough match . Ajax can't afford to let them hang around and gain confidence . Take them and their crowd out early by playing fast ,attacking football...with their new found toughness thrown in .

@ Arthur

Season 85/86 and 86/87 Feyenoord defeated Ajax teams of a higher standard than the present one. It is only a slight exaggeration to lable them shittier than the present Feyenoord side. Yes, Feyenoord finished third in 85/86 and again in 86/87, but Eredivisie ( if not the top sides such as Ajax and PSV) is certainly stronger now than it was in the mid to late 80's. The mid to late 80's Eredivise had many semi-pro teams whereas now the clubs are all full time.

I read that Rene Temm-stink :pukey: will be the referee on Sunday. Is there another ref guaranteed to SUCK (!!) the air out of a match as much as this clown? Never thought I'd pine for the days of Blind Dick .

I was too young to follow football then, so I'll take your word for it.
I hardly think results from 20 years ago have any relevance for today though.
Since then Ajax have won the vast majority of matches against Feyenoord, even in poor seasons.

I wouldn't disagree with you. I'm just saying that we shouldn't take this Sunday for granted. Like any other big club, Ajax has suffered its share of unexpected defeats over the years. We only need to refer back to the home match with Copenhagen to be reminded that there is no room for complacency come this Sunday.

Exactly. Well said.

Ten Cate said it several times this season: "Superior football talent will only be decisive if you work just as hard as the opposition."

Normally, I think the difference in quality will be pretty large on Sunday. Ajax have a considerably stronger side. But that will only be visible on the score-board if Ajax take this one just as seriously as Feyenoord will. We're better, but it's not an away game at IK Start or something... It's still an away game against one of the five or six better teams in the Eredivisie.

Underestimate this one, and they'll give us hell. Take this one 100% seriously, and we'll win it.

K.
