Hopefully he feels like he has to step up to repay Ajax for showing confidence in him.Lord knows, there will be a stampede of defenders, including Robbert, trying to earn playing time.

Right... It's now been decided that he may be loaned out after all...

And I'm sure it'll happen, too. Expect his transfer some time this week.

Thats not good at all, we need him at Ajax as there is no natural left back cover for Urby, I like the guy I want him to stay!

Ajax.nl reports that Robbert Schilder will join NAC Breda in the summer. His contract expires on 30 June, so he will move to Breda on a free transfer. So far, he had 26 appearances for Ajax (1 goal).

It is a pity that we don't get anything for him. I know they were trying to transfer him out over the summer and were not successful. Perhaps the potential suitors could afford to wait and pick him up at no cost. He has been a servicable reserve this season but with Vermaelen and Vertonghen alternating at left back (when they aren't sitting because of stupid red cards) his future is limited.

He has been a useful reserve especially since Christmas break. He will probably get regular games with NAC and not at left back. He is more a defensive midfielder than left back , which is why I would not have ago at any of his performances at left back.
