I don't think any of us will find it a shame that there will be no Eredivisie football next weekend... (but Euro 2008 qualifiers)

The next Ajax fixture is Ajax vs NEC on Saturday 20 October.

With or without Henk ten Cate on the bench? The latter seems much more likely than the first.

Well its Adrie Koster's first game on the bench....pretty good test by the way....NEC is not an easy rival...we have had our share off bad times against them.....hope for a win :ajaxscarf.gif:

Let's remember, it's what goes on ON the field which is important to us! Let's hope for 3 points tonight. Let the "politicians" sort out the OFF field side next week. Let's get behind the lads.....we need the points!

Mine isn't on either stream yet. The buffer isn't big enough for me at the moment and keeps freezing and cutting out about every minute. If anyone has a better stream working for them, post it here please.

Halftime -- NEC is letting Ajax have posession -- laying back on defense -- Ajax isn't playing the ball fast enough to break them down -- though they did have a couple of good chances -- the only one out there seeming to be able it make an impact (from what I can see) is Luque.

i didn't understand where is luque playing, in left or right. it looks like he's playing in right and rommedahl in left. rommedahl + left wing = 0
i expect to see suarez in second half

We can kiss goodbye to the championship if we cannot beat NEC .
I note Stam went off at half time , assume another injury. He struggles to get 90 mins in .

Steks broken finger is all we need.

Can we really blame the fact that 8 first team squad are injured? A fully fit Davids would make some difference but it is all very depressing.

Maybe because of international duty with Uruguay the last week they were resting Suarez, that's my guess.

I'm pretty sure it's because of that, he didn't trained yesterday.

What an utter load of crap. Just finished watching on Setanta delayed broadcast and we were lucky to get Nil.

Suarez can f*ck right off with that diving and hacking sh*t too.

The atmosphere in the ground looked lively anyway - they kept zooming in on the directors box........

Match report is up, ladies and gentlemen.

http://www.ajax-usa.com/matches/page.js ... D=34463888

Mind you: we are aware of the fact that the lay-out of the page is crap. We're working with a provisional, temporary and makeshift Ajax USA website at the moment, while we're working on the new Ajax USA website.

To be fair, I thought Luque was one of the least sucky players on the day. He was a bit unlucky not to have scored. I think a front line of Luque, KJH and Suarez has the potential to be pretty good.

It is the midfielders behind them that are the problem.

luque started out ok and got worse and worse as the day went on, as if he had to do it all himself - he would beat one defender, then make a miserable touch and lose the ball when open players were waiting for a pass... it was maddening

I blame it on the injuries.

But however the injuries must not be the excuse i blame it on the management not to bring players in who would step up from the bench.

I can understand the anger. Very sad though.

I assume the players didn't play well? I didnt watch the game..

Geez, why can't players stay fit these days? Pro-to-be footballers should work out before making the big step, injuries are blocking any progress for team, the player himself, and fans dont like to see their favourite injured.

PS: As good as Stekks may be, he's too injury prone as a keeper. Work him out too!
