As usual in the eredivisie we switched off around 60 min. Easily did enough for the win though and I think vitesse scored from two of their three real chances.

Busy night for VAR with its customary lack of consistency. Could have been penalties for Pasveer’s tackle on Dolberg and for the handball but instead they ruled out the goal for “probably” being offside - no way they could be certain on that angle.

Gosh, there really is a buzz, is this the season for Ajax? On course for the treble? Remember the days when we used to say ten Hag out?!

A good win but it should have been easier on the scoreline. When Tagliafico went off our defence was out of shape ,Blind is way too slow as LB and allowed the cross for their 1st and de Ligt let the cross go for their 2nd when he should have been in the centre. Veltman is good cover at RB but not Cd and Kristensen cant defend.

We still have a GD of plus 13 so PSV would have to win their final 3 games by at least 5 clear goals a game. We can now take a week off to prepare for Spurs.

PS agree on Ziyech VAR goal ,no way could they decide he was off side on that angle and Odergard did handle just before Ht ,should have been a penalty but a good win and we can all relax for a week.

A Dutch club record of 160 goals in the season for us.

Ajax got the win but were very sloppy in the 2nd half. Two goals were conceded that really should not have been and this kind of defense will not work in the Champions League. I hope Tadic is not running out of steam as he is so integral to this team. the team gets a week of well deserved rest before taking on Spurs next Tuesday in London. Tottenham have a match to play this weekend.

Player Ratings:

Onana (6.5) - didn't have much to do other than watch his defense not do a particularly good job in the 2nd half
Tagliafico (6) - played his usual strong game before coming off after 70 minutes
Blind (6.5) - split time between the middle and LB and couldn't recover on the first Vitesse goal
de Ligt (7) - good enough on the night
Veltman (6.5) - moved into the middle at the 70 minute mark
Schöne (6) - above average and let Ziyech take most of the free kicks
de Jong (6) - some decent passing but never bossed the game
van de Beek (6.5) - some nifty back heels and hard pressing
Tadic (7.5) - solid with the ball and two cool PKs
Dolberg (6) - worked hard but missed a certain goal that he should have buried
Ziyech (7.5) - strong match and barely offsides on a nifty goal he created and finished
Kristensen (6) - rocket shot with his first touch and good enough defensively
Neres (5.5) - some OK play but never got into the flow of the game
Ekkelenkamp (6) - drew the penalty but didn't track his man well enough on the 2nd goal
Appie Nouri will forever be remembered for his grace and humanity on and off the pitch!
